Chickens love to peck at their feed. When building a feeder, Superior Poultry studied poultry and their eating habits to create a feeder that works well for the birds and the farmer. The feed is at the bottom of the cone. The feed is accessed at approx. 3" inside. This all but eliminates any feed spillage. No more rat and mice buffet after the chickens roost for the night.

Training

Some chickens need a learning period of about 2 weeks to learn how to eat out of the feeder. During this time, pour feed in the holes so the red holes are filled with feed. Do not have any other feed source available.

This feeder is designed for adult chickens only. The adult size will vary with breed, but not less than 9 weeks old. For the chick size, we recommend a tray feeder on the ground.
