I have used the mixer half a dozen times now and am well pleased. Compared to my forty some year old white mountain 4 quart it is very similar in operation once assembled but i find the Immergood less fussy to assemble and clean. it also uses less ice to make six quarts than the old white mountain used to make four quarts. the insulated cover is also an improvement for hardening after churning the custard. it is easy to wipe down in the sink when done compared to a folded bath towel loaded with ice and salt to cover the white mountain.
as much as i have enjoyed my white mountain freezer since the middle 1980's, i am pleased to be using the Immergood.
Time has resulted in the white mountain bucket bands rusting through in spite of my diligence in trying to rinse thoroughly after every use. it also takes a a day of soaking before use to swell the wooden bucket to hold water/brine.
I would recommend the Immergood freezer to anyone who wants a convenient, well made, high quality hand operated ice cream freezer.

After years of using lesser ice cream makers, I finally bought the real deal. Over this past weekend I made chocolate ice cream per my father's request. He was skeptical that we'd need 8 quarts, but with fifteen family members I was tired of running out before everyone had their fill. All 8 quarts disappeared. Fast. This ice cream maker is like buying a new Mercedes when you're accustomed to driving a 25-year-old Nissan. The dasher and tub is substantial. The bucket kept the ice cream frozen for four hours until dinner was finished. The motor was so silent I kept checking to see if it had stopped (during the 25 minutes it took to complete its task). The ice cream was, as my five-year-old stated, "the best I've ever had." Using my old recipe, the texture was much better than what we're used to having. Clean-up was an absolute breeze. The price is premium, but you get value for money. I wish we'd bought this twenty years ago. This coming weekend I think I'll try mint chocolate chip!

We have had White Mountain makers for 35 years. They were the best until Immergood came out with theirs. We love how quickly it makes ice cream. 15 to 20 minutes and it is done. Use a whole bag less ice and about half the salt. It is high quality, made in the USA and will be here for our great grandchildren. I recommend getting a tub ear on both sides. Will make your life immensely easier. Great service also. Thank you Immergood.
