We have been making our own ice cream for over 40 years using another brand of maker. Everything wears out so when I went to purchase a new unit, I found out that brand is no longer made in USA and reviews are less than stellar. Found this one, the whole family is impressed. Well made, smooth operation, made so gears can be serviced.
