i built a stand and added a hose barb and hose to collect brine in a bucket to allow me to use the freezer indoors without dripping brine on the floor.
it is an improvement when its uncomfortably warm and humid outdoors

I would not normally spend this much for something like this. I decided to splurge on this because we were hosting a big family party celebrating an 80th birthday. The ice cream maker was so nostalgic and a huge hit. It made our 6 quarts of ice cream in about 20 minutes. We used one of the classics recipes provided. It was simple and everyone loved it. It also firmed up nicely and held up well stored in the freezer. I’d definitely buy this again~

I purchased the 6 Qt hand crank plastic tub ice cream (IC) maker. So much thought has gone into the design of this amazing product. We have had old White Mountain IC makers growing up that were great and some other generic brands of electric IC makers. We are loving the hand crank!
Benefits of this product:
1. No super loud motors to deal with.
2. I've NEVER seen ice cream come out so solid. It's usually a milkshake consistency. But with the hand crank, you can churn the ice cream much longer than you can with an electric motor so your ice cream turns out WAY thicker! (The electric motors usually burn out over time. White Mountain did send a replacement for free, but that was in the 90's and I doubt they still do that) Disclaimer: I use a country vanilla recipe of my grandma's, so you beat the eggs and sugar until they're fluffy, so it also makes the ice cream thicker.
3. I LOVE the green plastic insulated tub with lid! I don't have salty water leaking everywhere (like the wooden tubs), the ice doesn't melt away as fast since its so well insulated and I can do it inside (no leaks and loud motor).
4. I did buy the stainless lid separetly and I really like that I can leave all the ice cream in the bucket with the ice until it's ready to be served so I don't have to scramble to get the IC into another container before it melts and find room in my crowded freezer.
5. I LOVE the clear lid. I can visually decide when it's thick enough, instead of guessing by the amount of resistance. It also makes it more fun for the kids and is helpful for remembering which direction to rotate the handle.
6. The gears and the housing are very well built. You can really crank on it without fear of breaking it. (I have a hand crank honey extruder from Amazon/China that broke on the first use. It was around $250! So these parts matter!)
7. The ice cream container sits and rotates nicely on the little guide on the bottom of the tub. This had been a huge source of frustration with other IC makers. The perfect alignment allows the IC lid to line up nicely with the little cogs on the hand crank.
8. I really appreciate the stainless steel! No rust. Especially when dealing with all that salt. And it is very thick metal, so I'm not worried about punching a hole in it if it gets dropped or something. (Our last IC maker wore a hole through the thin metal) Seriously, this thing would survive the apocalypse!

My only area of improvement would be that the hand crack handle slightly rubs a nut on the side of the green bucket. All I had to do was push the whole hand crank housing toward the side with the handle and there was enough space/ tolerance to rotate the handle without touching the nut. I put a popsicle stick where the extra space was created for reference.

Overall we are VERY pleased! It is worth every penny. We will have this for the rest of our lives I'm sure. We support US made. We also have our own family business and we know what its like to make products in the US, competing with foreign labor and material costs. I want to be able to buy products in my own country. Thank you for this remarkable IC maker!

Have made several frozen custards and the texture has been amazingly creamy. Really impressed how the ice does not melt quickly. Thank you for a great product.

False advertising! I paid 455.00 for a ice cream maker that advertised made in USA. We unboxed and used it was very loud to be so costly! Ice cream was great! The motor tag read made in CHINA. Completely upseting I wanted this for my husband we are trying to support more American made products. This is false Advertising!!

This was a very expensive Christmas gift. My wife was excited until we opened it, and it looked used. The outer barrel was scratched up and there was sticky goo on the metal part so styrofoam bits stuck to it. We were hoping to make ice cream with visiting family members over the holidays. Guess not.

Home Place Market answered all my questions and delivered everything that I ordered quickly. The Immergood is definitely a high quality and well thought out American made product.

Have only used it twice so far, but it's already worlds of difference better than the similar, wooden models I've used. The composite tub lacks the nostalgia of the old-style wooden barrels, but it also lacks the leaks and can be used indoors (with care) without sending saltwater everywhere. But the mechanicals are the real standout feature vis-a-vis other models. Tight, smooth gears and a smooth cranking action. The difference is noticeable. On other models I've always experienced rough, grinding gears and sloppy play in the crank handle. This one is smooth as butter. Yes, it's wildly expensive compared to many of its competitors, but if you want to buy with confidence that you won't ever have to buy another one, this is the way to go.

This replaced a white mountain crank ice cream maker. We love this one! Cranks so smoothly and keeps the ice cream frozen.

Great homemade ice cream maker!
Our family has used this twice now. It make delicious ice cream in minutes. The cranking by hand doesn't take long at all before the container gets full. I also love the poly bucket so we don't need to worry about leaks.

I’ve been making hand cranked ice cream with a White Mountain freezer since I was a child. I’ve worn out two of them as an adult (over the last 30+ years). The 2nd was not as good as the 1st and it finally failed in January.

I looked at the available Made in USA options and chose the Immergood 6 Qt Hand Cranked Freezer for two reasons: The one piece insulated tub (I was tired of my wooden tubs drying/shrinking and needing to be soaked before making a batch of ice cream), and the two piece dasher assembly (same functionality as my White Mountain freezers). As a bonus, when I unpacked the Immergood freezer, the stainless canister looked similar in size to my White Mountain canister and my White Mountain aluminum lid was a direct fit. I’m keeping the Immergood clear plastic lid, but I think the old aluminum lid will be more durable and increase heat transfer, speeding the freezing process.

I made my first batch yesterday (dark chocolate peppermint bark chunk - yum) and the setup worked flawlessly. The top crank assembly position anchoring was simple to use and secure. The gearing was smooth and cranking was easier than the White Mountain.

I think this freezer will still be going strong when one of our sons inherits it 30-40 years from now!

Count me as a delighted customer. This freezer costs a lot more than the cheap freezers with plastic gears, but the attention to design and quality construction are worth it. You really do get what you pay for.

Wendall I can’t thank you enough. You mailed it on Monday and it arrived on Thanksgiving, four days later! It’s summer down under and very hot. They are going to have so much fun with this! Thank you!

I appreciate the high-quality parts and everything being stainless steel or plastic poly. I also like the triple Dasher one of a kind if you want to make your own ice cream at home this is the one that you need. I also appreciate the way it came packaged very neatly.

This is certainly pricey, but I think it’s worth it. Absolutely love that this is USA made with stainless steel. Great quality. The new insulated bucket is fantastic too. My only complaint is that the shaft should have a nut or flat areas on it so that you could put a wrench on it to counter turn when removing the hand crank. As it is, there is litte to hold onto when unscrewing the handle.

Finally (1 October) was able to make my ice cream for the first time, many days after I received my Immergood ice cream maker. It is easy to put together and it did not take long time to have a beautiful churned vanilla ice cream ready😁 I am very happy with it and looking forward to my next batch. Thank you.

High quality, great performance, fun for the kids, outstanding customer service. Highly recommended. These days its hard to find any company that strives for the basis of quality OVER quantity. Thats what you have here with this manufacturer.

This ice cream maker is similar to the old wooden ones I remember as a kid, but it is much easier to use. The maker is very sturdy and well designed. It seems like it will last for years. We used it several times this summer and the results were all good.
