Alumi-Coop Classic - 10x12 Lightweight, Aluminum, Chicken Coop Tractor for Chickens

The 10x12 Holds 50-60 Layers, 60-80 Broilers, 15 Turkeys, 25 Ducks
A roomy coop for the family farm or small producer.

Designed to make light work of giving your feathered friends the best of care! The Alumi-coop is quickly becoming the standard that other coops are measured by. These coops are designed by a poultry farmer. Get the best value with a nestbox, roost, feeder and waterer - all made to easy assemble and install.

The Yuneek rollaway community nest box is designed to help keep eggs clean and less damage. The nestbox can be configured to gather the eggs on the inside or outside of the coop. The vinyl flaps keep the interior dark and help the hens feel safer with less stress. This encourages them to use the next box. On traditional compartment nest boxes, chickens tend to crowd into only a few of the nest boxes. With the community style next box, more chickens are able to use a smaller nest box without the crowding problems.

Choose the PRO EGG kit for the best flexibility. The PRO kit gives you 10 gallons of water storage rather than 3 gallon. It also holds 35 lb of feed for any size bird rather than 15 lb of feed for adult birds only.

Great Chicken Tractor

We're very happy with our 10X12 coop. We'll be using it for meat birds in the summers (Delaware Broilers this year) and as a duck coop in the winters. Due to heavy snow fall here in Montana, I requested this be shipped without the tarp cover. I built a simple but sturdy roof out of 1X4 lumber and plastic roofing panels. Since the tarp would have also covered much of the back wall, I filled in the spaces back there with metal hardware cloth. Wendell was great to work with and we are glad we bought this! I could have made a chicken tractor out of lumber, but this is much stronger and will last forever.

Hi there! Thank you so much for your kind review of our Alumi-Coop Classic! We are glad to hear that you are happy with your purchase and that it is working well for your needs. We appreciate your feedback and are glad that our team was able to accommodate your request for shipping without the tarp cover. Thank you for choosing our product and we hope it continues to serve you well for many years to come!

Great quality

I had a mechanic who helped me put it together and it really was pretty straightforward and he’s quite adept. It’s an incredibly well built tool looking forward to using it. It just came in last week on Thursday and today is Tuesday and so we had on Monday Tuesday we put it together.

Hi there! We're so happy to hear that you had a positive experience with the assembly of our Alumi-Coop. Thansk for sharing the pictures of the coop in action. We hope you and your chickens enjoy using it! Thank you for choosing our coops.

BEST TRACTORS AND BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

I purchased these tractors for my small organic egg and meat farm. Wendell worked so hard to answer all my questions, get me exactly what I wanted to purchase, AND help me get the most affordable freight since I'm on the West Coast. I shopped around. There are other distributors of these coops and some copy-cats. But NO ONE will work as hard for you as Wendell and Home Place Market! I'm in Oregon and I've had so many people come over and ask me to look at these coops. They are getting a lot of attention!! But who cares about that... they work AMAZINGLY WELL! And they're made of super high quality components. My dad and grandfather had fastener companies. I appreciate things that are well-made. Also, I'm not very handy and can't be fixing things every day. I need infrastructure that works hard for me and I don't have to do a lot of maintenance. I want to enjoy the birds and not be worried about their homes! We have really intense predator pressure. These tractors, Premier 1 electric netting, and my wonderful dogs have meant that my beautiful birds are SAFE from predators. This peace of mind is priceless. I'm so grateful and happy to tell anyone who has questions about my experiences with these tractors and the unbeatable customer service at Home Place Market. As soon as I finalize my website, I'll include that for more photos! Thank you Wendell!!!

Hello Sarah, I want to say thanks to you as well for being a great customer. We get our fulfillment from being a blessing to our customers - near or far. Thanks for taking the time to share your thorough review. This is appreciated by us as well as the folks in shop that build the coops and try to pay attention to detail.
Shipping these large coops is no small task. Since it is something we specialize in, we learn over time what works best for safe arrival, best carriers, and best prices. Although these large coops do not ship in a cute UPS box, we feel they are worth building a pallet for and shipping across the country. I am glad were able to get you a very good price for your coops.
I am looking forward to seeing more of your farm on your website!

Great Coop and Great Customer Service

The 10x12 Alumi-Coop is perfect for my flock. Mine arrived slightly damaged from the loading and unloading during shipping. Wendell was quick to respond, and I got the replacement parts right away.

The coop set-up was straight forward and easy enough. I did it alone, but I would recommend 2 people. A couple of the steps were a little tedious all by myself but would have been a breeze with a partner.
My chickens love it. They get all excited when they see me reach for the handle now, because they know new grass is coming.
They aren't laying yet, so I can't speak to the nesting box, but it looks like it will work very well.
The waterer with the cups is working great. Best waterer I've ever had for my chickens, and I've had a few. This one stays clean, and just exposes enough water for them to get a drink, the rest stays closed off and is bug and algae free.
The feeder, I may still need to play with. My chickens aren't grown enough for me to mount in on the outside, so I mounted it on the inside, and they are making a mess of it. I probably just need to adjust how much comes out, the hopper opening is adjustable.
Moving it is easy for me, but I'm a big guy. My wife, who is petite, found it too hard to move. Same with my 8-year-old son. I think it's a very well-designed mechanism to lower the wheels and lift the front. I don't mind moving it at all.

Last year, my whole flock got killed one night as a pack of stray dogs found a weak spot in my home-made coop/run set-up. This Alumi-coop is essentially Fort Knox. I don't think there are weak spots, everything is made of strong metal for the walls and thick tarp for the cover. Digging would be a dog's only option, and I don't think there is a good solution to that, considering the coop is mobile.

Hi Justin, thanks for letting us know how things went. I like hearing your first hand experience of setting up the coop. Sounds like you are enjoying the part of being able to give your chickens new grass. It is fun to see the chickens 'dive' into the new grass and be the first to catch the bugs. Have fun raising your hens.

Good stuff

Just about have everything assembled on the 10x12 Alumi-coop. Right out of the box, the excellent craftsmanship is notable. Every pre-drilled hole lined up perfectly for bolt assembly. The welds are skillfully/throughly placed. All it took was propping the first (front) panel up against a barrel, and installing the first side panel. Each part after was a breeze with clear/intuitive instructions. I did all but the wheel mounts, by myself (rather than propping it up to work “under”, since the mesh blocks access, it’s just safer to have someone hold a wrench from inside, while another works outside for 2-3 minutes, and then it’s done).

We’re gonna put her through a Michigan winter and see how she holds up! Thanks for the great customer service, answering questions, and getting the product shipped out quickly.

Thank you for your positive feedback on the Alumi-Coop Classic! We are glad to hear that the assembly process was smooth for you. We hope your coop withstands the Michigan winter. Thank you for choosing Homeplace Market!

Great Customer Service

I purchased a 10 by 12 for a home without a forklift. The sales rep coordinated with the freight company to arrange pick up using a trailer, and everything went seamlessly. Once home I unpacked it solo and managed to assemble nearly the whole thing in roughly an hour. The quality is solid, and instructions were clear and helpful.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review! We are happy to hear that you had a positive experience with our customer service team and that our product was easy to assemble. Thank you for choosing Homeplace Market!

Our chickens are soo happy!

They love all the daylight and now they are in the garden eating the rye cover crop while also fertilizing the ground!! The weather protection wrap keeps it so comfortable, too! Thanks so much for your help! The Frey family

Hi, Thanks for letting us know how the coop is working. I am sure the hens enjoy the chance to have some fresh grass.

What is the height of the 10 x 12 coupe

Homeplace Market LLC

The ridge height of a 10x12 coop is about 6'. It makes it easy to walk into.

Ryan

Does this include wall covers for colder weather/wintertime?

Homeplace Market LLC

The coop packages do not include the heavy vinyl winter covers.

Would this work on a rolling pasture that has dips and mounds (not perfectly flat). If so, what do you do with gaps under the sides?

Homeplace Market LLC

Hi, this is a tough question to give a simple answer.
Yes, it does work on rolling ground,
No, it does not work on rutted ground or rough ground.

On most rolling ground, you may have to pick your spot a little, but you will likely be able to find and area that is about 10x12. For our coop, I skip some little areas where the ground is really uneven.

On our farm, our 10x12 is sometimes placed in the pasture. Every so often, we find a rut. This makes at hard to push the coop, so we find it works the best to pull it to the new grass.

The two-fist size gaps from the ruts do not create a problem. Since it will change the next day, the chickens do not try to get out nor do predators find it. If you always have a gap, then critters will learn, otherwise they do not catch on before we move the coop the next day.
