It's great to purchase a product that is well-made! You feel like you did the right thing. You spent a little more, but the extra expense was worth it. Out of the box, you can tell this ice cream maker is a quality product. I'd rather buy one excellent quality ice cream maker than 3 or 4 plastic ones. There is no plastic in the motor, the dasher or the canister. None! The bucket that holds the components is plastic, but it is a heavy grade plastic like that used in a high quality drink cooler. The bucket does not leak. The motor is high quality and it is quiet! Our first batch of home-made banana ice cream took 35 minutes to freeze, start to finish, and it was fantastic. We reintroduced our family to one of our childhood joys---making and eating homemade ice cream. The Immergood ice cream maker is the cream of the crop!
